its very simple, just open the cover and pull out the old fuse, make sure you put the same size back in, close the cover. might need a pair of needle nose pliers to pull the old one out. thats all there is to it.

Both of the above answers are correct but if it`s the type brian d mentioned where you cut the wire,disconnect the battery first to eliminate the risk of short circuit.
