Is it wise to run a 9.5kw shower through a 6mm cable even though there's a 40amp fuse in the fuse box?

My mate has installed a 9.5kw shower and it kept cutting out as the fuse kept blowing. He was trying to run it with a 30amp fuse and only 6mm cable. I've told him that it should be run through 10mm cable and a 40amp fuse but all he has done is changed the fuse but not the cable. Any idea how dangerous this is?

For that size Kw shower using 6mm cable,it is supposed to be a cable length of 20m or less from shower to consumer, any longer then 10mm cable should be used.

That is highy dangerous and illegal since 2002 it has been illegal for DIY electrics a Qualified electritian must do it an issue a safety certificate.

it should have been on a 45A breaker with earth leakage detection plus a minum of 10mm^2 cable.

This could kill you!! also if the property is rented or sold it will have to be removed and reinstalled by someone who is qualified to do it!
Your very much correct ! 10mm squared cable with a 45 Amp RCBO is the correct way. and it must meet the building control under part P regulations. Man tell him to be careful !!!!! It's against the law to use less than 10mm
